Advent Compline to be offered at Christ Episcopal Church on Sundays (Nov. 30, Dec. 7, and Dec. 21) at 7 PM in the Main Church. Salty Santa promises to be as vibrant and enchanting as ever, featuring a colorful procession of fishing boats, tug boats, the historic Madaket, sailboats, and a delightful array of small boats all decked out in festive holiday decorations. The highlight of the day will be the arrival of Santa Claus himself, who will be brought to town by Zerlang’s tugboat, Pacific Gemini.
If you need decorations, just come by and take what you need. No payment required. This year, we’re also including toys. If you’d like to donate: We are accepting donations of all faiths. Please drop them off Sunday, November 30 from 11AM to 1PM or Monday, December 1 or Wednesday, December 3 from 1PM to 3PM; or Friday, December 5 from 10AM to 2PM. (Other drop off periods can be arranged.) Decorations and toys should be clean, usable, and in good working order.

For many, the holiday season can be a bittersweet time, where moments of joy are shadowed by feelings of grief, loneliness, or distress. As the world celebrates the birth of Christ, Christ Church also recognizes and honors the grief carried by those whose relationships have been altered or lost through death or other forms of separation. Christ Church offers this special communal worship service for all who are grieving, suffering loss, and seeking a liturgy that speaks to their pain.

Zoo Lights is an illuminated, directional pathway through the Zoo that features holiday displays, a beautifully lit Redwood Sky Walk, and Humboldt's tallest living holiday tree. Sequoia Park Zoo will be hosting Zoo Lights extended hours every night (except Christmas!) December 20, 2025 through January 4, 2026 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Admission is $5 per person. The Longest Night Service will provide a space for grief, sorrow, and lament for those who have experienced loss during this year (or previous years). During times of celebration and gatherings with family and friends, loss is felt most keenly. The Longest Night Service will be an opportunity to name those losses before God through song, prayer, and readings. Childcare will available for children 0-10.
All are welcome to join the Town Church family in celebration of the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve. The Incarnation will be remembered in a traditional manner with readings, singing Christmas carols, and lighting the Advent Wreath candles.
