Murals and the Legacy of the Eureka Street Art Festival
From 2018 to 2023, the Eureka Street Art Festival hosted world-class muralists in town for a week-long celebration of public art. Over the course of six years, the festival resulted in more than 50 large-scale murals across Eureka, with a concentration in Old Town, Downtown, the Bridge District, and Henderson Center.
Although the festival has concluded, its impact is still evident everywhere. These murals continue to shape the character of the city, offering everything from bold abstract designs to vivid wildlife and cultural tributes. Painted Utility Boxes: Everyday Art in Unexpected Places

Many of Eureka’s murals, benches, and community art initiatives were made possible through their DreamMaker Program, which helps local creatives bring ideas to life.
