Who doesn’t love a good brunch spot? Whether you’re craving sweet or savory, a latte or mimosa, brunch really does have it all. Below are some of Eureka’s local favorites that offer a full breakfast to lunch experience.
Newly relocated to 307 2nd Street and owned by a Humboldt native, The Greene Lily is nestled in the heart of Old Town and features a cozy, inviting patio perfect for soaking up the energy of Eureka’s historic district. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Greene Lily serves up incredible breakfast, lunch, and champagne brunch—with favorites like Eggs Florentine, Biscuits & Gravy, and the Bacon & Tomato Melt. The menu also includes vegan and gluten-free options. As a smaller restaurant, reservations are recommended for parties of six or more—so plan ahead if you’re coming with a group!
Conveniently located right off Highway 101 as you enter town, Golden Harvest has been a Eureka staple for generations. As with many other local restaurants, they offer dine-in, curbside pick-up, and a limited menu through DoorDash delivery. The menu has a large selection, including many of your favorite classic brunch fare. From biscuits and gravy to breakfast burritos with house-made tortillas, you certainly will not leave hungry. For their guests choosing to dine in, many opt for a liter of their Harvest Mimosas for the table!
Housed in a building listed with the National Register of Historic Places and a recipient of the 1994 Governor’s Award of excellence in design, the Café Waterfront celebrates the history of the building well with its inspired brunch menu. The café is also a bed and breakfast, with two rooms available boasting a lovely view of the Humboldt Bay. Locals recommend coming on a Sunday to try their famous coffee cake!
A Humboldt County institution since 1981, Ramone’s Bakery & Café has multiple locations in Eureka, including Old Town and Henderson Center. This beloved local spot is known for its scratch-made pastries, artisan breads, and satisfying brunch options like quiche, bagel sandwiches, and seasonal scrambles. Pair your meal with expertly brewed espresso or locally roasted drip coffee. Ramone’s offers both vegan and gluten-free baked goods daily. With a warm, casual atmosphere and both indoor and outdoor seating, it’s a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or grab something quick and delicious on the go.
If it’s brunch with a view you’re looking for, Café Marina and Woodley’s Bar is the place. Located on Woodley Island, just a short drive from the City of Eureka, you’ll enjoy an incredible view of Humboldt Bay and Eureka across the way. The brunch menu is full of fresh, local ingredients and plenty of side options to create the perfect plate. Their menu includes incredible omelets, French toast, and even Swedish pancakes. After your meal, take some time to explore the small island — the iconic Fisherman Statue honors those “whom the sea sustained…and those it claimed” and is a worthy photo op.
This is a true local’s spot. With a more limited brunch menu that leans toward lunch, AA Bar and Grill is a great spot to enjoy a game on TV, drink delicious Bloody Marys, and have meaningful conversations. You may even be tempted to come back for dinner!
