Arkley Center for the Performing Arts, Eureka

Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The Band

Named Best Live Band in Los Angeles (LA Weekly), Dustbowl Revival blends Stax era soul and New Orleans jazz in raucous, upbeat performances. This distinctive double-bill honors the legacy of the influential Canadian group The Band, with each ensemble reinterpreting songs from The Band’s classic albums in their own inimitable styles.

Fourth Friday Flix: Dirty Dancing (1987)

Sheltered girl meets a bad boy from the wrong side of the Catskills resort and is pulled into a whirlwind of romance and dance montages culminating in the annual end-of-season show. Who hasn't been there?

Revisit the 1987 version of 1963 with a pompadoured Patrick Swayze as Johnny Castle, rolling up his short sleeves to teach Baby Houseman (Jennifer Grey) to mambo and cha-cha. Swivel like Swayze to the iconic soundtrack that zigzags between decades and launched a thousand awkward proms.

Can these two crazy kids from different worlds make it work? Will her dad (Jerry Orbach!) find out? Will they ever perfect that lift? And who puts Baby in the corner? Nobody.
